New Albany to Granville, Cherry Valley Interchange

Description:
A 12-mile combination of several projects which connect four-lane St. Rt. 161 at New Albany and four-lane St. Rt. 16 at Granville. Phase One involves widening St. Rt. 161 into western Licking County. Phase Two involves continuing to meet up with St. Rt. 37 and St. Rt. 16 through to Granville. Study of a full interchange to replace a light at Cherry Valley Road has been stalled.

Corridor: These projects represent the steps needed to accommodate existing commuter traffic and complete the second-largest piece of the corridor.

Multi-Modal: These projects improve westbound access to Port Columbus Airport and ease congestion for transit and van pool commuters.

Status:
Next Step: Local officials and corridor committee counties have requested that ODOT release the federal earmark and continue funding commitments for the Cherry Valley Interchange.
Access Ohio: Macro corridor
TRAC: Tier I project, construction of Phase I started in 2006 and Phase II in 2007. Both phases slated for completion by 2009. Cherry Valley is a Tier II project that was aided by a $2 million Congressional earmark through Congressman Tiberi.
