SR16 Coshocton/Muskingum

Description:
An approximately 10-mile connection of the recently-opened, four-lane St. Rt. 16 improvements just east of St. Rt. 60 with the four-lane Coshocton bypass. This section is considered complex given its likely route through waterways and potential wetland areas as well as being parallel to existing rail lines.

Corridor: Another linkage point between points east and points west. This piece completes the connection between Columbus and Newcomerstown /I-77, opening the door to completion of the corridor.

Multi-Modal: By completing the first leg of the corridor to I-77, improves access to intermodal facilities and access to passenger rail terminals.

Status:
Next Step: Needs to remain listed by TRAC as a Tier II project and continue to environmental phase. The project, according to an ODOT August 2007 Fact Sheet, is "halted" as a result of the budget amendment which restricts action on projects not in TRAC Tier I.
Access Ohio: Macro corridor
TRAC: Tier II Project. Two corridor options are considered most viable and the next step is an environmental study.
